FJT Members & Alum Find National Success

Throughout the 2015 season, past and present members of the Florida Junior Tour have found success all over the country. FJT Winners, Alum and current members have had their names pop up everywhere, from playing PGA Tour events as an Amateur, to earning medalist honors at USGA National Championships, and raising crystal at prestigious invitationals, they have done it all.

2015 Highlights

  • January - FJT Alum & 2013 Florida Amateur Champion, Sam Horsfield repeats at the prestigious New Year's Invitational at Saint Petersburg Country Club.
  • February - FJT Alum Brooks Koepka earns his first PGA Tour Victory at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
  • February - FJT Member & 2014 Florida Amateur Champion, Gabriel Lench captures the AJGA's CB&I Boys' Junior Championship.
  • February - FJT Alum and FSGA Junior Match Play Champion Daniel Berger falls to 3-time Major Champion, Padrig Harrington at the Honda Classic at PGA National Golf Club, his best finish so far in his rookie campaign.
  • March - Two-time FJT Tour Championship winner and current FJT member, Andrew Kozan appears in the PGA Tour's Puerto Rico open as an Amateur, narrowly missing the cut.
  • May - FJT Members Athena Yang & Kendall Griffin, earn medalist honors during stroke play at the Inaugural U.S. Women's Four-Ball Championship.
  • June - FJT Members Matthew Ruel (16-18) & Joseph Pagdin (13-14) win respective age divisions at the Future Masters.
  • June - FJT Alum and 2013 State Amateur Champion, Sam Horsfield qualifies for the U.S. Open Championship at Chambers Bay.
  • June - FJT Alum and FSU standout, Jack Maguire earns co-medalist honors at the U.S. Open Sectional at The Bears' Club. Maguire would fire a 2nd round 68, making the cut and finished T58.
  • June - FJT Alum Jimmy Jones, Jr. captures the 98th Florida Amateur Championship at Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club.
  • July - FJT Members William Wrigley & Jacob Huizinga capture the 66th Four-Ball Championship at Streamsong Resort.
  • July - FJT Members Jorge Garcia (Venezuela) & Sachin Kumar (Trinidad & Tobago) represent their countries in the golf competition at the Pan-American Games in Toronto.
  • July - 3-time FJT winner Brandon Mancheno earns medalist honors at the U.S. Junior Amateur. Brandon was one of 9 current FJT Members to advance to the Championship and 7 who advanced to match play.
  • July - FJT Members Sierra Brooks, Mimi Chen, Kendall Griffin & Kelsey Zeng advanced to match play at the U.S. Girls Junior Amateur.
  • July - FJT Alum Lexi Thompson wins Meijer LPGA Classic, her 5th LPGA Tour Victory at only age 20. 
  • August - Former FJT Member Sierra Brooks makes a run to the finals of the U.S. Women's Amateur.
  • August - 20 FJT Members & Alum, including 6 state champions, qualify for the U.S. Amateur.
