Jacob Penny, of Valrico, played a solid two rounds of golf to capture first place by one stroke with a five under-par 139 total. Despite the back-to-back double bogies in round one, Penny posted a one under-par 71 followed by a round two 68 (-4) to earn his first FJT win in 2017. Saint Augustine resident, Brett Schell, made seven birdies in his final round but two bogies kept him one back to finish in second palace with a 140 (-4) total. Schell carded the tournament low round on day two with a five under-par 67. Four players, John Driscoll, Manuel Girona, Davis Lee, and Nicholas Bessire tied for third place at 142 (-2).
Hoisting the trophy for her first win in 2017, Victoria Hwang carded rounds of 72-75 to win by two strokes with a 147 total. In the final round, Hwang, of Orlando, held a strong lead with nine holes to go. A double bogey on her 15th hole made the last couple of holes intense but solid pars sealed Hwang’s victory. Bianca Sol Cruz, of Largo, posted two
consistent rounds of 75-74 to tie Wint Phoo Aung, of Bluffton, South Carolina, for second place at 149 (+5).
