Concession Cup Teams Announced

February 20, 2018

BRADENTON - Our friends at The Concession Golf Club are excited to host the third playing of The Concession Cup this upcoming April.

The Concession Golf Club was founded to commemorate the extraordinary gesture of sportsmanship that Jack Nicklaus made at the 1969 Ryder Cup when he conceded a two-foot putt to Tony Jacklin to halve their match, which resulted in the first ever tie in the history of the matches. This moment became forever recognized as, "The Concession."

The Concession Cup tries to capture the sportsmanship and competitive nature that those Ryder Cup matches brought. Six of the best Mid-Amateurs, Seniors, and Super-Seniors are selected from the United States and Great Britain & Ireland to compete for three days at The Concession Golf Club, which is one of Florida's toughest tests. The tournament hopes to deliver a world-class experience for its participants, sponsors, volunteers and attendees (the event is open to the public) while showcasing top amateur golfers from the U.S and GB&I in the true spirit, character and competitiveness of the game.

The United States team, captained by Bob Lewis, will look to defend their title this year with a team chalk-full of talent. Here is a breakdown of the United States team:
