WINTER GARDEN - With the threat of Tropical Storm Alberto looming, the field of 58 players set out on Saturday thinking it was nearly impossible we would finish a 54 hole event. Mother nature once again had us fooled. Without a single weather delay, the FJT Memorial Day Major concluded with only the occasional rain shower.

Boys 13-15 Division

After round one, Leo Goosen of Windermere, sat atop the leaderboard at three under-par, 69. Four players sat three strokes back at even par 72. Luke Clanton didn't let the rain phase him during Round 2 and made his comeback. Clanton, of Miami Lakes, carded a one under-par, 71 to take the lead by three strokes going into Mondays final round with a two day total of one under-par, 143. The high winds of Mondays final round would decide the tournament. At the conclusion of play, Round 1 leader, Leo Goosen had fallen one short and would finish in solo third. Nick Strickler played lights out and carded a four under-par, 68, ultimately forcing a play-off with Luke Clanton. The players were tied at even par, 216.

Clanton and Strickler headed to the 18th hole to begin the sudden death playoff. Both player made par advancing to the first hole to continue the playoff. With a par on the second playoff hole, Clanton claimed his win!  As Luke hoisted the trophy he recorded his third win out of the last four FTJ events.
