Wire-to-Wire Mid-Am 4-Ball Champs

Devin Hernandez and Spencer Baldwin, both of Saint Petersburg, joined forces to earn a wire-to-wire victory at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club (North Course). The duo posted two consistent rounds of 63 for a 126 (-18) to win by one stroke over the team of Cameron Knight/Wesley Graham. Spencer and Devin had a total of 17 birdies and one eagle over the course of two days to be crowned Champions.

Despite carding two eagles in two days, the team of Graham, of Clearwater, and Knight, of Lutz, came up one stroke short of a win with rounds of 64-63—127 (-17). Campione, 2017 Champion with partner Clayton Brewer, completed the top three with teammate Shaun O’Meara. The team finished three strokes behind with consistent rounds of 64-65—129 (-15). 34 teams finished under-par in great golf weather, with the Championship being completed ten minutes before the storms rolled through Dade City on Sunday.

Scott Kennedy and Ben Finley

The team of Scott Kennedy and Ben Finley sunk a five-foot putt to win by one stroke at Jacaranda Golf Club (East Course).  Both residents from Plantation, Kennedy and Finley, went wire-to-wire with rounds of 62-68—130 (-12).  The team had 12 birdies in two rounds to secure their victory. 

Two teams, Daniel Eggertsson/Ben Adelberg and Scott Turner/Greg Forest, tied for second place at 131 (-11). Turner and Forest played tough coming down the stretch, birdying three out of the last four holes, but could not catch the leaders. Both from Stuart, Turner and Forest posted rounds of 66-65—131. Despite a final round 63, Adelberg, of Boynton Beach, and Eggertsson, of Royal Palm Beach, finished tied for second place after a final round 68. 18 teams finished under-par with two days free of rain in Plantation.
