In the first round, Fisher posted a round of one-under par 71 to trail the first round leader, Gary Shover, of Parrish. Fisher fired a final round of two-over par 74 to claim the title by two strokes. Fisher continues to lead the 40-54 division in points with his sights set on the Amateur exemption, which will be held at Quail Valley Golf Club, in Vero Beach.  First round leader, Gary Shover, finished alone in second place after rounds of 70-77 for a tournament total of three-over par 147. Jim Hammons, of Port Orange, and John Moore, of Naples, finished tied for third place with a tournament total of 150.

John Vaccaro, of Sarasota, (pictured top left) won the Senior Division title with a tournament total of two-under par 142.  Vaccaro opened up the event with a one-under par round of 71, and continued his steady play on Sunday morning, posting another round of one-under par 71, to win by two strokes. Gordon Marshall, of Sarasota, finished in second place after rounds of 69-75. Jim Prim, of Pensacola, finished in third place with a tournament total of 148.

Jerry Jackson, of Sarasota, (pictured left) prevailed in the Super Senior Division posting a tournament total of four-over par 148. Jackson held a share of the first round lead with Carey Watson, of Plantation, after carding a one-over par 73. In the final round Jackson would go on to fire a round of three-over par 75 to win by one stroke. Tim Miller, of Venice, finished in second place with a total of 149. Carey Watson and Ronald Toler, of Bradenton, would earn third place honors with a tournament total of 153.

The Winter Series events include seven competitions, six individual events and one four-ball event. There are three age divisions, Mid-Senior (40-54), Senior (55-64) and Super Senior (65 & over). The Winter Series is a great opportunity for golfers to compete in competitive events that normally may not because they do not live in Florida year round.
