Eisch and Shin Capture First FJT Wins

April 13, 2014

The Florida Junior Tour 13-15 Age Division headed to Sandridge Golf Club in Vero Beach this weekend.  The boys played the challenging course at 6,642 yards while the girls played at 5,664 yards.  The conditions were perfect, and the scores were low.

At the conclusion of round one, Colin Krel’s two-under par score of 70 was leading the tournament by one stroke over Robert Eisch.  Kresl had a couple of unfortunate holes and slipped during round two, shooting a three-over 75 and a tournament total of 145.  Eisch captured the moment and continued his superb play during round two, shooting another round of 71 to win by three-over Kresel. This was Eisch’s first victory on the Florida Junior Tour.  Andrew Kozan and Sully Zaggerman tied for third at 148.

In the girls division, Brittany Shin’s first round of 80 trailed by two strokes following the first round of play. In round two, she caught fire and shot a 73 to capture her first FJT title by eight strokes.  Orlando’s Erika Smith shot a tournament total of 82-79-161 to take home second place, while Austin Kim’s 162 earned her third place.

An impressive achievement of the tournament, Max Coutsolioutsos had his first hole-in-one during the second round on hole number 3, a 179 yard par 3.

The 13-15 year old division will head to Old Corkscrew Golf Club in Estero for their next event on May 3-4.
