The 86th annual Women's South Atlantic Amateur (SALLY) was underway this past week, January 11-14, at Oceanside Country Club in Ormond Beach. Past champions and competitors of this prestigious event include many women that now play on the LPGA Tour. It is the second event in the Orange Blossom Tour that attracts the top US and international women golfers.
Many Florida women competed in the championship. Meghan Stasi, of Oakland Park, came out again on top with a 13th place finish shooting 73-74-78-79--304. Erika Scheider, of Bradenton, shot 74-80-74-82--310 to place 21st. And one of our avid Florida Junior Tour players, Kristine Odaiyar, of Ocala, placed 22nd with a 76-77-83-75--311.
Other Florida participants include Tovie St. Louis, Erica Stoner, Emma Albrecht, Alessandra Kutz, and Alexa Hammer.
