The Florida State Golf Association has announced the 2012 schedule for the FSGA One-Day events. Starting March 5th, the FSGA One-Day events will travel around the state visiting courses that include: TPC Sawgrass, Bay Hill, Black Diamond, LaGorce, Loblolly, TPC Tampa Bay, Innisbrook Resort, Camp Creek, Grand Cypress, Hideout Golf Club, The Ritz-Carlton (Bradenton), Golden Ocala, Ocean Hammock and many more.
FSGA One-Day participants can play where the pros play! There are 150 events from March 5th – December 4th at the top courses in the state. Events take place during the weekdays and all events are shotgun starts.
The cost includes golf, use of a motorized cart, range balls, and prizes. Participants are allowed to create their own foursomes, please email pairings requests to onedays@fsga.org. Each event will be 18 holes of individual net stroke play within flights (except gross flight), with players playing to 100% of their course handicap.
New for 2012: Women are now eligible for all events during the 2012 season.
The One-Day events are open to amateur golfers, and there is no age limit. Players will be grouped in one of five flights, "Gross", “Under 50”, “50-64”, “65 and Over”, and "Women's". Players are required to have a FSGA/GHIN handicap of 24.0 or less for men and 34.0 for women. However, golfers who do not have a FSGA/GHIN handicap index may compete after they obtain a handicap online for $30. At each event gift certificates will be awarded to the top finishers in each flight. Players without an established handicap will be eligible to compete, but not for prizes.
