Caldabaugh/Kuchar Lead Senior Four-Ball

The team of KC Caldabaugh and Peter Kuchar lead the field of 52 teams after the first round of the Senior Four-Ball Championship at Gainesville Country Club.  

Both from Ponte Vedra Beach, Caldabaugh and Kuchar fired a first round score of 6–under par 66 to take a one stroke lead. Three teams share second place with a 67 including Bob Ethridge, of Plantation, and Rick Woulfe, from Fort Lauderdale. Ethridge and Woulfe are part of the Lago Mar Country Club team that won the Club Team Championship earlier this year. Also shooting a 67 is the team of Michael Benham and Ron Russo, both from Ocala, as well as Chip Landon, of Orlando, and Randy Parks, from Longwood. Fred Peel, of Chipley, aced the 11th hole with a 5-iron helping his team finish with a 69.  

Teams of two, each 55 years of age or older, play 36 holes of four-ball stroke play in the Championship. In four-ball stroke play, two competitors play as partners, each playing his own ball. The lower score of the partners is the score for the hole. The field is flighted after 18 holes.
