Over 1,000 will Attempt to Qualify

In a 13 day span in the beginning of May, over 1,000 golfers will attempt to qualify for the US Open in Florida alone.

The first stage of making it to the US Open is qualifying through a Local Qualifier.There 16 qualifiers held in Florida, the most of any state, and players must play a nearly flawless 18 holes to make through the first stage of qualifying. Those lucky few move on Sectional Qualifying which takes place in early June.

There are several sectional qualifiers held around the country and the one in Florida is on June 4th at Black Diamond Ranch (Quarry Course). Players play 36-holes on one day with only a small percentage of the players earning entry into the US Open Championship which is being held at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, CA on June 18-23.

Amateur and professional golfers with a handicap of 1.4 or lower are eligible to enter the US Open. Entries must be submitted through the USGA website by April 25th. Click here to apply to play.
