Tim Hume takes a two stroke lead heading into the final round of the Mid-Amateur Stroke Play Championship at the Bonita Bay Club – East, in Naples. The final round will begin at 8:00 am on Sunday, May 6th.
Tim Hume, from Tampa, posted an impressive first round of six-under par 66 to grab a share of the lead heading into the second round of play. In the second round, Hume posted an even par round of 72 for a two round total of six-under par 138. Trailing Hume by two strokes is Allen Parker, of Davenport, who fired rounds of 72-68 for a two round total of four-under par 140. Doug Snoap, of Apopka, and Phil Olive, of Estero, are currently tied for third place with a two round total of three-under par 141. The Defending Champion, Don Bell, of Port Orange, is tied for 10th place with after rounds of 71-74.
To be eligible to compete in the Mid-Amateur Stroke Play Championship all players must be a minimum of 25 years of age by May 4, 2012. The Mid-Amateur Stroke Play Championship will be conducted over fifty-four holes of individual stroke play. All players will play thirty-six holes at the Bonita Bay Club - East on Friday, May 4th and Saturday, May 5th. The field will be cut after thirty-six holes. The final round will be conducted Sunday, May 6th.
