Sawyer Shaw and Yueer Feng grabbed first place honors to capture their respective titles at the Florida Junior Tour’s (FJT) Old Corkscrew Golf Club, in Estero, December 12-13.
Sawyer Shaw, of West Palm Beach, carded a two under par 70 in the first round and continued his solid play in the second round firing a one under par 71 for a tournament total of 3-under par 141 total, giving Shaw a five stroke victory. Shaw’s incredible season continued Sunday by winning his third event in a row. Shaw has yet to finish outside the top four in his first seven events of the season. Domenico Geminiani, of Bradenton, grabbed second place honors by firing a final round three under par 69, for a tournament total of two over par 146. Matt Cote, of Palm Harbor and Kevin Jorden, of Juno Beach finished tied for third place with a tournament total of four over par 148. Joshua Lee, of Orange Park, had the round of the tournament with a final round six under par 66. Lee’s final round included a double eagle on the par 5 8th hole and an eagle on the par 5 11th hole, in route to the lowest tournament score ever posted at Old Corkscrew Golf Club.
Yueer Feng, of Orlando, fired a final round two under par 70 to win her second FJT title of the season. In the final round Feng played a solid round of golf, recording the low round of the day and the only under par round of the tournament for the girls division, giving Feng a six stroke victory. Emma Smyser, of Naples, finished alone in second place with a tournament total of 148. Kelsey Gibson, of Thonotosassa finished in third place with a tournament total of 152.
