At the northern championship, Randy Elliott of Winter Park and David Anthony of Jacksonville won with scores of 65-66--131. Elliott was also the Mid-Senior Champion this year.

Mike Walters and Frank Griffin, both from Tampa, scored 68-68--136 and placed second at the northern championship. Bob Sims and Bob Hinkle, both from Tallahassee, placed third with round scores of 69-68--137.

The Mid-Senior Four-Ball Championships were for amateur golfers over the age of 40. The competition used the four-ball stroke play format. In four-ball stroke play, two competitors play as partners with each playing their own ball. The lower score of the partners is the score for the hole.

The championships were the 13th and 14th of 17 state championships conducted annually by the Florida State Golf Association.
