Mid-Senior Four-Ball Champions

In the South Championship, Stephen Anderson and RJ Nakashian fired a final round 64 at Sara Bay Country Club, giving them a six stroke victory. Stephen Anderson, of Hobe Sound, and RJ Nakashian, of Palm Beach Gardens, got off to a strong start in the first round firing a 9-under par 63.  Anderson and Nakashian finished strong in the final round carding an 8-under par 64 for a tournament total of 17-under par 127 and a six stroke victory. Jose Novo, of Miami, and Bret Voisin, of Orlando, secured second place honors firing rounds of 67-66, for a tournament total of 11-under par 133. 

The Mid-Senior Four-Ball Championships are each 36 holes of four-ball stroke play. In four-ball stroke play, two competitors play as partners, each playing their own ball. The lower score of the partners is the score for the hole. The field is flighted after 18 holes. To be eligible, players must be 40 years of age or older and members of the FSGA.

Sara Bay Country Club, designed in 1925 by Donald Ross, is widely recognized as one of Florida's finest classic courses with its undulating terrain, native trees and a meandering creek. The greens at Sara Bay CC, more than any other Donald Ross course, mirror his famous design at Pinehurst No. 2.

ELIGIBILITY

Must be age 40 or older as of September 11, 2010, and both entrants must be members of the FSGA.

ENTRY FEE

$310 ($330 - members who do not have an active FSGA/GHIN Handicap).

CHAMPIONSHIP

36 holes of four-ball stroke play.  The lowest team score for 36 holes will be the Champion. If necessary, there will be a hole by hole play-off to determine the champion. It is the player's responsibility to be present for any play-off.

COURSE SET- UP

The golf course will be set-up approximately 6600-6800 yards.

FLIGHTS

After 18 holes. The number of flights will be based on the number of teams and/or the range of scores.

TEE TIMES

Round one tee times will begin at 8:00 AM off the 1st and 10th tees.

PRACTICE ROUNDS

Practice rounds are available one week prior to the championship.  Practice rounds may be played after 12:00 PM on the weekend.  The price for your practice round is $30.00 + tax.  Please call (941) 355-6544 to arrange your practice round.  The proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range, hitting multiple shots on the course is unacceptable.

CARTS

Carts are included for all competitive rounds. Players are responsible for practice round fees.

DEFENDING CHAMPIONS

David Abell and RJ Nakashian won the South title at Lost Tree Club posting scores of 60-67--127.

SCORECARDS

Only one of the partners per team need sign the score card and each score to count must be individually identifiable.  See Rule 31-3.

SPECTATORS AND CADDIES

Spectators and caddies are always welcome at FSGA Championships. Only players are allowed to ride in carts.  If a player employs a caddie, the caddie MUST walk and the player's clubs must remain on the golf cart.

The FSGA Championships Committee/on-site Rules Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions, provisions and/or schedules.  The decision of the Championships Committee/on-site Rules Committee in any matter will be final.
