DESCRIPTION
The purpose of The First Tee is to impact the lives of young people around the world by creating affordable and accessible golf facilities to primarily serve those who have not previously had exposure to the game and its positive values. The Children's Golf Foundation is a diabled chapter of The First Tee. All of the programs conducted are for disabled children. PGA Professionals and other volunteers conduct classes each week. The classes and the equipment needed to play are provided at no charge to the students.
The Children's Golf Foundation also accepts groups of disabled initiatives, such as ARC, Coalition for Independent Living, JCC Families, Palm Beach County Schools ESE Programs, and others.
The Children's Golf Foundation has their own faciltiy inside Dyer Park designed for diabled children to learn golf. The facility, the Tam O'Shanter Teaching and Learning Center, has four holes and areas to practice driving, chipping and putting.
