University of North Florida sophomore Jeff Dennis
won the 89th Florida State Amateur Championship
shooting a tournament total of 5-under par 280 at

Junior Florida Cup
The inaugural Junior Florida Cup ended in a tie as
each team earned 20 points at Lake Nona G & CC on June
14-15. This competition matches the top boys and
girls in the
state against
each other in a Ryder Cup format.

Hurst Advances
to US Women's Open
Vicky Hurst, 15, of Melbourne, was medalist
at Sectional Qualifying at CC of Heathrow to advance
to this week's US Women’s Open. Vicky receives an exemption to
the US Women's Amateur and US Girls'

Match Play
- CC of Ocala hosts the Match Play Championship
on August 10-13. Sign up by July 12.
Mid-Senior – Entries close
July 19 for the Championship at Bonita Bay East.
Mid-Amateur
– Register by August 2 to play in the Mid-Am at
Black Diamond Ranch. Nine qualifiers across the
state will round out the final field.

“Green is Good, Brown is Bad” and the thought that a
golf course should never lose its dark green color
