Florida Golfers Advance to Bob Hope Chrysler Classic
Marci Zweifel placed first in the Regional Chrysler Club Championship.
David Obst, of Coral Ridge Country Club in Fort Lauderdale, and Marci Zweifel, representing Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando, topped the field in the Chrysler Club Championship Finals to earn a spot to play with pros and celebrities in the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic on January 15-21 in Palm Springs, California.

After qualifying at Falcon's Fire Golf Club in early October, Obst and Zweifel moved on to compete against other Regional qualifiers at the Westin Innisbrook Golf Resort during the PGA Tour's Chrysler Championship. Playing the Island Course, Obst fired a 72-75--147 to win by one as Zweifel posted rounds of 78-81--159 to take first by two strokes.

The Chrysler Club Championship is an amateur golf competition for men and women that is played in a series of matches at local, regional and national levels. Regional winners advanced to the National Finals, a two-round tournament played in conjunction with the PGA Tour’s Chrysler Championship in Tampa. The Florida State Golf Association conducted the Regional Chrysler Club Championship for Club Champions across the state at Falcon’s Fire Golf Club in October with the top four women and men from the Regional advancing to the Finals at Innisbrook.
