Graham Advances to US Junior Amateur Semifinals

Wesley Graham, the 2004 and 2005 13-15 Boys Junior Champion advanced to the semifinals of the US Junior Amateur Championship.

Wesley Graham won four matches before falling to the eventual Champion in the semifinals of the US Junior Amateur Championship in Missouri last week.

Playing in his second US Junior, Graham, 17, of Port Orange, Florida, posted a two-round total of 146 to tie for 22nd place in the stroke play seeding round. In the Round of 64, Graham came back from 2 down to win the match on the 20th hole. He went on to win his next two matches and then defeated Sean Dale, of Jacksonville, 7 and 5 in the quarterfinals. In the semis, Graham was beat by Cory Whitsett, of Houston, 6 and 5, who continued on to won the 2007 US Junior Amateur Championship.

Graham has won three Florida Junior Tour events and captured the 2004 and 2005 13-15 Boys Junior Championship. He is also playing in this week's Canon Cup. Last year, he advanced to the quarterfinals of the US Junior.
