US Open Sectional Qualifying at Jupiter Hills - Tequesta, FL

From May 7 - 21, the Florida State Golf Association (FSGA) administered 17 US Open local qualifiers across the state with more than 1,200 golfers attempting to qualify for the 107th US Open Championship. This Sectional at Jupiter Hills is one of just 14 in the world. The field features 47 players including PGA Tour Player Fredrik Jacobson, of Sweden. Many of Florida's junior golfers are competing for a spot in the Open including Sarasota Men's Amateur Champion Chris Kennedy who will be attending University of North Florida in the fall and Arnond Vongvanij, of Bradenton, who will be playing for University of Florida next season. Also in the field is William Cauley, 17, of Jacksonville. Cauley, a top-ranked junior golfer, was a 2006 US Junior quarterfinalist. Florida Junior Tour member Zachery Sobel, 16, from Clearwater Beach, will also be competing at Jupiter Hills.
