Jupiter Hills Club in
Tequesta will host sectional qualifying on Monday, June 2 with
45 golfers hoping to advance to the 108th U.S. Open Championship
at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California on June
12-15.
The sectional at Jupiter Hills is one of 14 across the world
featuring amateur and professional golfers competing in 36 holes
of stroke play. The field of 45 consists of 32 professionals and
13 amateurs attempting to qualify for the U.S. Open.
The 7,344-yard, par 70 Hills Course opened in 1970. Designed by
George Fazio, the championship layout brings together the land
and player through hilly fairways and golf holes woven through
forests of pine, oak and palmetto. Jupiter Hills is also the
site of this year's Florida State Amateur Championship on June
19-22.
The Florida State Golf Association (FSGA) conducted 17 local
qualifiers across the state and the sectional qualifier at
Jupiter Hills. The FSGA will administer more than 40 qualifying
events for USGA Championships this year.
