The Florida State Golf Association will conduct 17 local qualifiers in the state for players hoping to advance to the 2008 U.S. Open Championship at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California on June 12 - 15. From May 5 – 19, the FSGA will administer 18-hole local qualifiers with the top finishers advancing to sectional qualifying at one of 13 sites on June 2.

The United States Golf Association accepted 8,390 entries for the 2008 U.S. Open. 1,200 competitors will attempt to qualify at one of the following Florida sites:

May 7 - Rio Pinar, Orlando
May 7 - Innisbrook - Island, Tampa
May 12 - Ritz-Carlton, Bradenton
May 12 - Bear Lakes - Links, West Palm Beach
May 12 - Hammock Dunes - Creek, Palm Coast
May 12 - Golden Hills, Ocala
May 12 - MetroWest, Orlando
May 12 - Shark’s Tooth, Lake Powell
May 12 - Avila, Tampa
May 13 - Naples National, Naples
May 15 - Emerald Hills, Hollywood
May 15 - Disney - Magnolia, Lake Buena Vista
May 19 - Pine Tree, Boynton Beach
May 19 - Amelia River, Amelia Island
May 19 - Hawks Nest, Vero Beach
