The Florida State Golf Association has announced that Rick Greenleaf and Pat Finfrock have been awarded the 2008 Volunteers-of-the-Year for their hard work and dedication to amateur golf in the state. These fine gentlemen will be recognized at the FSGA Annual Dinner later this month.

Rick Greenleaf, of Jupiter, was selected as the Tournament Volunteer-of-the-Year. Rick has been involved with the FSGA since 2002 and was previously a 15 year member of the Philadelphia PGA tournament staff, a 5 year Rules Official veteran of the Golf Association of Philadelphia, and a Rules Official for the Pennsylvania Golf Association. Since his time with the FSGA, Rick has volunteered at more than 60 events, ranging from the Florida Junior Tour, FSGA Winter Series, USGA qualifiers, and the High School Golf Championships. Rick is also involved with the Palm Beach County Golf Association.

In the Course Rating area, Pat Finfrock, of Port St. Lucie, was awarded the Volunteer-of-the-Year. Pat joined the Section 12 Course Rating Team in 1994 and became Captain in 2000. With four counties and over 100 courses to rate, Pat’s team keeps busy rating 10-12 courses per year. Pat continues his course rating education by attending seminars and sharing his experiences with his team.

On Friday, November 21, the FSGA will hold the 2008 Annual Dinner at Timuquana Country Club in Jacksonville where the 2008 Volunteers-of-the-Year will be recognized. In addition, the FSGA will honor the 2008 Champions, Players-of-the-Year, FJT Points Champions and induct one individual into the Florida Golf Hall of Fame.
