Congratulations to John and Ann Ives!
John and Ann Ives received the Albert “Ray” Massey Citizen Volunteer Award given by the city of Gainesville.  The award is given to “exceptional volunteers who have contributed much of their time and energy to promoting recreational activities throughout Gainesville.  John and Ann are actively involved in junior golf in Gainesville.  They have worked with junior golf for 10 years and led the Gainesville Junior Golf Tour for five years.  In October, the Alachua county high school golf coaches renamed the annual Alachua County Boys High School Tournament “The John and Ann Ives Boys High School Classic.”  John and Ann have acted as Tournament Directors for that event for five years.  The FSGA congratulates John and Ann Ives!

Thank you, thank you , thank you!
A big thank you to volunteer Charlie Sokolash who suggested the FSGA for the ExxonMobil Foundation grant!  The ExxonMobil Foundation awarded the FSGA a $500 grant due to efforts made by eligible individuals participating in the Mobil Retiree Volunteer Program!

Course Rating Tip, by Gary Donat
The scheduling of ratings has begun, last week agreements were sent to 160 clubs with courses in need of a rating. When a club returns the signed agreement to our office, I’ll send a copy of the agreement to the Captains and update the Volunteer Central Course Rating Management page on the FSGA website. Captains, please make sure you are using this tool and updating each rating as you progress through the ratings process.

I will be arranging some dates for course rating meetings to be attended by all Course Rating Volunteers and a Captains meeting in Tampa. I want to be able relay some of the information gathered from the USGA National Course Rating Calibration meeting, so stay tuned.
