Who will be representing
your Club at the 2009 Florida Open?
We know
people like to brag about their golf
professional's playing abilities and we want YOU to make
sure they qualify for this great championship.
As you have may heard, the FSGA
acquired the rights to run the Florida Open and we are
going to bring this tournament back to its former
status as the most prestigious tournament for the working golf professionals
of Florida. Over the past 15 years, the
tournament turned into a small mini-tour event and club
professionals steered away from playing. This year
the championship will be co-hosted by
Quail Valley Golf Club and John's Island West in Vero Beach.
There are 15 qualifying sites set up across the state so
there is not a reason in the world why your club's professionals
cannot attempt to qualify. After all, the championship
is in July when things are a little slower around the
club.
If they say they don't
have time, tell them to make it. If they say they don't
have the entry fee, take up a collection because the
qualifying fee is only $80! We know your golf
professional works very hard, may not get to play
much and we want to help change that. Your golf
professional got into the business because of his love
of the game and while they work extremely hard to
service the members, they really need to get out from
behind those counters and tee it up once in awhile.
Do us a favor, the next
time you go to the club, ask your Head Professional who
on the staff is going to play in the 2009 Florida Open
and how can the membership help them get there. |
