AC Ulmer

On Friday, November 18, 2005, the Florida State Golf Association inducted A.C. Ulmer into its prestigious Hall of Fame as a part of the first five to receive such an honor. The ceremony was held at Palma Ceia Country Club in Tampa in conjunction with the Annual Dinner. 

Alfred C. Ulmer, Sr. of Jacksonville, founded the Florida State Golf Association in 1913 and won the first Florida State Amateur Championship in 1914. Ulmer went on to win the Amateur four more times (1917, 1921, 1922, 1928). Ulmer was a founding member at Timuquana Country Club in Jacksonville.

In 1950, he won the United States Seniors' Golf Association Championship, the forerunner to the US Senior Amateur, which began in 1955.
