Rules of Golf Workshops

 

Rules workshops include indoor and outdoor sessions taught by certified Rules officials.

 

 

Rules of Golf Workshops are taught by certified Rules Instructors and designed to benefit golfers of all abilities and tournament volunteers.

Two types of Rules Workshops are conducted across the state; One-Day Workshops and Two-Day Advanced Workshops. Please view the detailed information on each workshop below and the requirements for attending a Two-Day Advanced Workshop.

 

One-Day Workshop


Designed For:

  • All FSGA Tournament Volunteers

  • Golfers interested in a more in-depth knowledge of the Rules

Class Details:

  • 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

  • Indoor slide and video presentations

  • Outdoor demonstrations

  • Lunch included

  • Rule Book included

Summary:

A full day interactive class covering the Rules of Golf with emphasis on the most common Rules encountered.

Cost and Credits:

  • $40 per person

  • PGA Pros receive 4 MSR credits

  • LPGA Pros receive 4 CU's

  • Free for Florida Junior Tour members (email info@floridajuniortour.org at least one week in advance to register)

 

Two-Day Officiating and Advanced Rules Workshop

Open to:

  • FSGA Volunteers ONLY wishing to become certified as a "Rules Official" or "Senior Rules Official"

  • Must have attended either a PGA/USGA Workshop or an FSGA One-Day Workshop

Class Details:

  • Approval for attendance required

  • 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM both days

  • Indoor discussions

  • Outdoor demonstrations

  • Small class sizes

  • Highly Interactive

  • Tests given after each section

  • Lunches included

Summary:

A two day interactive class exploring the Rules of Golf in depth, Decisions on the Rules of Golf, FSGA policies, and Officials' duties.

A test is given after each section and a score or 85 or higher is needed to achieve the "Rules Official" status.

Cost and Credits:

  • No charge, but FSGA approval needed for attendance

The FSGA does not accept registrations via the telephone or by fax. You may register online by clicking on the "View Schedule" button and selected the site you wish to attend. You may also register via U.S. mail by completing a registration form and mailing it into the FSGA. Just click the "Click here for a printable application" link or we'll be glad to mail or fax a registration form to you.

Requests for refunds received eight days or more prior to the seminar will be honored less 50%. No requests will be honored within one week of the seminar. The FSGA is required to give a guaranteed head count seven days prior the to seminar.
