Craig and Garver Team Claims Senior Four-Ball

Cool and windy conditions did not prevent Edward Craig and Ed Garver from capturing their first Senior Four-Ball title.

Edward Craig of Orlando made a 15-foot putt on the 18th hold to win the Florida State Senior Four-Ball Championship at El Diablo Golf & Country Club with partner Ed Garver of Lutz. The team’s final score was 64-72--136. Players fought windy and cool conditions today on the 6550-yard, par 72 course.

Larre Barrett, Homosassa, and Robert Martin, Ft. Lauderdale, finished one stroke behind and placed second with a two day of 66-71--137.

Three-time winners Curt Madson of Mount Dora and Ron LeClair of Osteen tied for third place with the team of Jay Fitzgerald of Tequesta and Bill Maloy of Jupiter. Their scores were 67-71--138 and 69-69-138 respectively.

The Florida State Senior Four-Ball Championship is the 16th of 17 championships conducted annually by the Florida State Golf Association. The FSGA is a not-for-profit organization that promotes, preserves, and protects amateur golf in the state of Florida.
