2017 Senior Championship to Bradenton CC

Historic Bradenton Country Club has been selected to host the 56th Florida Senior Amateur Championship held in April of 2017. The course was founded in 1924 and was designed Donald Ross and restored by Ron Garl in 1999. In the past, they have co-hosted the Florida Boys' Junior Championship, the U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifier, and several other FSGA events and qualifiers. Bradenton Country Club is located in the city of Bradenton which is situated between Sarasota and Tampa Bay.

First conducted in 1961, the Senior Amateur is open to male amateurs that are at least 55 years of age on the first day of the championship. Notable champions include Florida Golf Hall of Fame members Bo Williams and Bob Rankin, Jack Veghte, and also Rick Woulfe, Doug LaCrosse among others. The 2015 champion was Gordon Marshall of Sarasota with rounds of 70-72-67--209 and the 2016 championship will be held this April at Adena Golf & Country Club in Ocala.
