Recap

Brendan Valdes, from Orlando, captured his second Florida Junior Tour victory this weekend after fending off an extremely strong field. Brendan's final round of even-par, 72, included an incredible six birdies en route to his two stroke win. A pair of double bogeys kept Brendan from running away from the field in his attempt to post the only under-par round for the event. Past Florida Junior Tour winners like Stewart Slayden and Tyler Wilkes did everything they could in the windy conditions to chase down Valdes, but both players were unable to close the gap on Sunday. Tiaan Mattiace posted solid back-to-back round of 2 over-par, 74, to place in solo second. Stewart Slayden, Brett Roberts, and Harrison Ornstein placed in a tie for third with two day totals of 5 over-par, 149. Ornstein tied Valdes for the low round on Sunday with an even-par, 72.
