Girls 13-15 Division

A one hole, sudden-death playoff determined the winner of the girls’ division. Aaron Whitley overcame a two-stroke deficit, with a second round score of 75, to tie for the lead after the final round. With a comeback round two of 74, Mi Li  moved up the leaderboard to tie Whitley in first. The two leaders teed off on the par five, ninth hole to crown the champion. Li three-putted costing her a bogey, while Whitley two-putted for a par and a victory! This is Whitley’s, of Sarasota, first FJT win!

First round leader, Chloe Kovelesky, realized just 20 minutes prior to her tee time that she signed for a wrong score on the 10th hole in the first round. Showing great respect for the Rules and the spirit of the game, she came to the Committee and explained the mistake. Regrettably, the penalty is strict in this case and she was disqualified, but she gained respect from the Committee and her peers.

Boys 13-15 Division

Gregory Solhaug, originally from Norway, earned a wire to wire win with rounds of 69-71-140 (-4). Solhaug, who carded a total of seven birdies over two rounds, is another first time FJT winner. Tiago Barni, of Windermere, finished in second place, five strokes behind, with rounds of 73-72—145. Rounding out the top three was Leo Goosen, of Windermere, who posted two consistent rounds of 73 for a 146 total.
