PORT ST. LUCIE – Zachary Smith, of Palm Beach Gardens, won by a landslide in the Boys 16-18 division at The FJT event August 18-19 at Santa Lucia River Club. Zachary was the only player in the tournament to post under-par rounds on either days of the tournament. Smith’s rounds of 70-71- 141, left him with an 11 shot lead over Tim Cahill, of Royal Palm Beach, and Kevin Reilly, of Oviedo, who both shot 152. With his dominate under-par performance, Zachary was able to claim his first FJT victory. 
Emma Albrecht, pictured right, of Ormond Beach, was victorious in the Girls 16-18 division. Emma played steady golf both days, carding a 38 on her front nine and 37 on her back nine the final day. Her consistent play of 74-75- 149 gave her a three-shot victory over Orlando’s Yueer Feng who shot 152.
The conditions at Santa Lucia River Club were hot and breezy. The course played extremely difficult and contained challenges in its undulating greens. The next FJT event is August 25-26 at Worthington Country Club in Bonita Springs for girls and boys ages 13-15. The following FJT event is for 16-18 year-olds September 8-9 at Winston Trails Golf Club in Lake Worth.
