McLauchlan & Pellot Win at Esplanade

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – Andrew McLauchlan and Izzy M. Pellot capped off the weekend with a Florida Junior Tour victory on Sunday at Esplanade Golf & Country Club. It is the first win of the season for both McLauchlan and Pellot.

Boys 16-18

McLauchlan picked up the win on Sunday with a 6-under 138 for the two-day tournament. The Neptune Beach native posted a 3-under 69 in the first round. He birdied four of the final six holes to finish Saturday in a tie for second, one shot behind the leaders.

The 2022 graduate began the final round with a bogey-free front nine. Heading to the back nine, MacLauchlan sat in second place, one shot behind Ngai (Kelvin) Si. MacLauchlan birdied three of his last six holes to secure the win.

He finished the final round with a 3-under 69, the low round of the day, to win his first FJT.

Si took home second place with a 5-under 139 for weekend, posting a 3-under 69 in the first round and a 2-under 70 in the final round. MacLauchlan and Si were the only two players in the field to card two under-par rounds for the tournament.

Kiko Francisco Coelho finished third with a 2-under 142, while Xirong Cheng finished one shot back in fourth at 1-under 143.

Girls 16-18

Pellot survived a playoff to earn the win in Lakewood Ranch, after posting an even-par 144 for the weekend. She carded a 1-under 70 in the first round, with three birdies and an eagle, to hold a three-shot lead heading into the final round.

The Altamonte Springs native began the day with 1-over on her first nine. Bridget Ma fired a 3-under on the back nine and finished the day with an even-par 70 to hold the clubhouse lead at even-par.

Pellot held a two-shot lead going to the final, but carded a double bogey to finish the day at 2-over 74 in a tie for first with Ma. Pellot recovered with a par on the first playoff hole and secured her fifth FJT win.

Ma took second place, while Bailey Shoemaker finished third at 1-over 145. Karoline Tuttle posted a 2-over 146 to earn fourth place.
