What Happened

The 66th Boys’ Junior Amateur Championship made its way back to Streamsong Resort, this time for the 13-15 Division. Nicholas Prieto carded a 4-under 69 to take the lead on Saturday, while 84 players teed it up in the first round.

Prieto, who started the day on the 12th holes, got off to a quick start, birding his first hole of the day. The Miami native added another birdie on the front nine to make the turn at 2-under. A bogey on the fourth was his only hiccup of the day.

Prieto rebounded with back-to-back birdies on the sixth and seventh holes, before adding another birdie on the 10th hole.  He finished the day with a one-shot lead over the field heading into the second round.

Jack Turner used a 3-under 70 in the first round to sit in second place, while three players are tied for third place at 2-under 71.
