Dimayuga & Yan Win at CC of Winter Haven

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Enrique Dimayuga and Meiyi Yan came out on top in the first Fall Elite Series event on Sunday at The Country Club of Winter Haven. Dimayuga carded a 4-under 212 to win in the Men's Division, while Yan finished the week at 12-over 228 to capture the victory in the Women's Division. 

Men's Division

Players battled it out for 36 holes on the first day of the tournament. After the first two rounds, Dimayuga sat one shot behind the leader, Alex Maguire, at even-par 144. Dimayuga and Maguire were the only player to post under-par rounds on Monday, Dimayuga with a first-round 70 and Maguire with a first-round 69. 

Dimayuga got off to a strong start in the final round, carding a 3-under front nine with birdieing four of his final six holes to close out the front side. The Florida Atlantic University sophomore posted a bogey-free back nine to finish the day with a 4-under 68 and capture the win at 4-under 212. 

Maguire took home a second-place finish at 2-under 214, with a final-round 71, while Davis Lee finished third at 1-under 215. Nicholas Gabrelcik and Michael Sakane tied for fourth at 1-over 217. Gabrelcik  and Jake Hearn shot the low round of the day both with a bogey-free 67. 

Women's Division

After the first two rounds on Monday, Yan sat in a tie for second place with Ailsa Clark at 12-over 156, two shots behind the leader, Kathleen Sumner at 10-over 154. Yan began her final round with a bogey on the10th, She quickly rebounded with birdies on two of her three next holes, finishing the front side at 1 over. The Harvard University sophomore birdied back-to-back holes on he third and fourth to move to even par for the day and earn the win at 12-over 228. Her final-round 72 was the only even-par or better round in the Women's Division. 

Sumner finished second at 16-over 232, finishing the tournament with a final-round 78. Clark took third place at 20-over 236, while Jenna Fonda and Elizabeth Harding finished tied for fourth at 21-over 237.
