FSGA Winter Series Course Lineup

September 2, 2011

The Winter Series offers golfers a chance to play a variety of great golf courses across the state.  Click here for the Winter Series schedule.

This year's season kicks off at Indian River Club in Vero Beach.  The course offers a total golfing experience with areas of white sugar sand, old growth pines, and large clear lakes and marshes.  Indian River Club has been host to the FSGA Amateur Match Play and Junior Match Play Championships as well as numerous FSGA and USGA qualifiers.

The series then moves to the Tampa Bay area and beautiful Feather Sound Country Club.  The layout has an open, airy, natural feel that plays long but open so players can feel free to swing away with the driver. Players will be faced with a challenge on the subtly-contoured, Pinehurst-style, elevated greens.

The third event of the season brings players to historic Lake Wales Country Club, a Donald Ross design built in 1926.  Lake Wales has been host to every major USGA qualifier as well as the 2012 FSGA Senior Amateur Championship.

The next stop is West Palm Beach and Madison Green Golf Club,  a unique layout with no parallel fairways on property. Players wind their way through palm trees, mighty oaks, pine barrens and native plants.

The season's only Four-Ball team event takes place at Mission Valley Country Club in Nokomis.  A course that was originally designed in the late 1960's by David Wallace.  Mission Valley is a challenging golf course with undulating fairways and many holes bordering water.

Windermere Country Club is a true test of golf.  With 13 holes bordering water and 63 bunkers on the course players will face a real challenge.  It is a classic design with oak and pine tree lined fairways and greens which every golfer can enjoy.

Brooksville Country Club is a golf course that will be hard for players to forget.  Tumbling fairways weave through ancient Live Oak trees while a unique set of dramatic holes snake along, around and in between the sheer rock walls of an abandoned limestone mine. It is truly a golfing experience unmatched in Florida.
