December 13, 2012

The top junior golfers in the state will compete this weekend, December 15-16, with hopes of winning the inaugural FJT Tour Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach.

The field is comprised of all four age divisions: Boys 16-18 & 13-15 and the Girls 16-18 & 13-15. In the Championship, participants will play 18 holes on Saturday, December 15 on the Dye’s Valley Course with the final 18 holes being played on and THE PLAYERS Stadium course on Sunday, December 16th.  Players earned their way into the championship based on their performance during the 2012 season.

The field is highlighted by the 20 time FJT Champion, Yueer Feng, of Orlando. Feng is joined by other great junior players including: Stefano Butti, of Palm City, Philip Knowles, Bradenton, Gabriel Lench, of Lake Mary, Summer Moser, of Lutz, Kristine Odaiyar, of Ocala, Ryan Orr, of Belleair, the 11 year old phenom Latanna Stone, from Valrico, Erica Stoner, of Ocala, Ryan Stovash, of Orlando and Ethan Wagner, of Port Orange.

Home of THE PLAYERS Championship, birthplace of the TPC (Tournament Players Club) Network, and backdrop to the PGA TOUR headquarters, the TPC Sawgrass golf course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., is perhaps the world’s most famous golf course.  THE PLAYERS Stadium Course sports one of the most recognizable and challenging holes on the PGA Tour. The notorious par-3, 17th hole, features an island green that makes or breaks many a PGA TOUR pro’s round.

Spectators and media are welcome to watch the state’s best junior golfers compete at TPC Sawgrass.
