Rosenbaum & Griffith Win 2nd Four-Ball Title

Marc Rosenbaum and Bill Griffith fired a two-round total 134 to win the Mid-Senior Four-Ball South Championship at Inverrary Country Club in Lauderhill.

Rosenbaum, from Hollywood, and Griffith, of Miami Shores, shot a 66-68 to finish 8-under par for the Championship. This is the second title of the year for the South Florida pair. In May, they won the Florida State Mid-Amateur Four-Ball South Championship. The team of Bruce Fitzpatrick, from Homestead, and Samuel Martinez, of Miami, as well as Bob Ethridge, of Plantation, and Craig Stevens, from Davie, each shot similar scores of 69-67 to finish at 136. Last year’s Champions, Lee Booker and Scott Ernst, of Naples, posted a 68-69—137.

The Championship was originally set for Mayacoo Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach on September 18-19 but was rescheduled due to Hurricane Frances. Players competed on the West course at Inverrary in 36 holes of four-ball stroke play over the course of two days. In four-ball stroke play, two competitors play as partners, each playing his own ball.  The lower score of the partners is the score for the hole. The field was flighted after 18 holes. To be eligible for the Mid-Senior Four-Ball Championship, participants must be 40 or older.
