Eight Players Advance to Chrysler Club Championship Finals

Four men and four women advanced to the Chrysler Club Championship Finals to be held at Westin Innisbrook Golf Resort October 26th-30th. Tim Hume and Debbie Mook Sang were medalists in the men’s and women’s division to top qualifying at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto on September 24th.  

Tim Hume, representing Hunters Green Country Club, led the men’s division carding a one-under par 74. Mike Walters, representing Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club, also qualified with an even par 72. Ken Moody, representing Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, and Robert Levy, representing The Golden Bear Club at Keene’s Pointe, both qualified with rounds of 74.  

Debbie Mook Sang, representing River Hills Country Club, led the ladies division with a round of 80. Linda McMillan, representing Hammock Dunes Club qualified with a score of 81 while Catherine Richey, representing the Country Club of Orlando, qualified carding a round of 82. Heidi Greenleaf, representing Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club, rounded out the qualifiers with a round of 83.  

The Florida State Golf Association conducted the regional Chrysler Club Championship for Club Champions across the state at Black Diamond Ranch’s Quarry Course on Saturday, September 24. The top four women and men from the Florida regional gained the opportunity to play at the Westin Innisbrook Golf Resort during the Chrysler Championship. The best man and woman from Innisbrook will then have the opportunity to play with professional golfers and celebrities at the 2006 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.  

The FSGA was pleased to partner with Chrysler and the Golf Digest Companies to host the regional in the state to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the American Junior Golf Association.
