June 3, 2007

Frank Strafaci and Rick Woulfe defended their title winning the 2007 Mid-Amateur Four-Ball South Championship on the Fazio Course at Jonathan's Landing Golf Club in Jupiter as Robert Parker and Doug Snoap secured the North title on the first playoff hole at Halifax Plantation Golf Club in Ormond Beach on June 2-3.

Frank Strafaci, from Davie, and Rick Woulfe, of Ft. Lauderdale, captured their second consecutive Mid-Amateur Four-Ball South Championship by five strokes with a tournament total of 10-under par 134. The South Florida duo posted a 67 in the first round to share the lead heading into the final round of play. In the final round, Strafaci started strong with a birdie on the first hole and an eagle on hole #6 to make the turn at 3-under par. On the back nine, the pair made three birdies to log a 34 and match their first round score of 67 to run away with the title. In addition to last year's Mid-Amateur Four-Ball South Championship, Strafaci and Woulfe won the 1995 Four-Ball Championship and 1998 Mid-Senior Four-Ball Championship.

Battling windy conditions, Robert Parker, from Sanford, and Doug Snoap, of Apopka, claimed the Mid-Amateur Four-Ball North Championship on the first playoff hole. Playing all 36 holes on Sunday due to bad weather, Parker and Snoap turned in a 67 for the first 18 holes. The pair recorded a 68 on the final 18 holes for a 135 total forcing a playoff with Steve Albright and Brent Dorman. On the first playoff hole, Snoap made birdie to secure the title. Snoap won this Championship in 2005 with Curtis Madson while Parker is a two-time Public Links Champion. The Ocala pair of Albright and Dorman posted rounds of 69-66 for second place.
