Smith and Tuttle Victorious at Eagle Creek

NAPLES, Fla. – It was Camden Smith and Karoline Tuttle who took home Florida Junior Tour wins on Sunday at Eagle Creek Golf & Country Club. Smith was victorious in the Boys 16-18 Division at 2-under 142, while Tuttle secured the Girls 16-18 win at 7-under 137.

This is the first FJT for Smith and the fifth for Tuttle.

Boys 16-18

Smith survived a playoff to pick up his first FJT win. The Windermere native sat in second place, three shots back of the leader, after a 1-under 71 in Saturday’s first round. He got off to a quick start in the final round, birdieing the first two holes of the day.

The 2023 graduate added another birdie on the front side to make the turn at 2 under. Smith ran into some trouble on the back nine with back-to-back bogeys on the 11th and 12th. He rebounded quickly with two birdies on the next three holes.

Smith posted a final-round 71 to be the only player in the field to cared two under-par rounds in the tournament. He finished the round in a tie for first place with Campbell Kennedy and secured the victory with a par on the first playoff hole.

Kennedy took home a runner-up finish, ending the weekend with a 2-under 70 to force a playoff with Smith. Richard Dou finished third at even-par 144, while Tyler Mistretta finished fourth at 4-over 148.

Girls 16-18

Tuttle earned her second FJT victory of the season, going wire-to-wire to capture the eight-shot victory. After a first-round 71 on Saturday, Tuttle began the final round with a one-shot lead over the field.

The Lake Mary native got off to a hot start, birdieing three of her first five holes. She added another birdie on the front side to make turn at 4 under after a bogey-free front nine. Tuttle started the back nine with a birdie, before posting two-straight bogeys. She recovered quickly with a birdie.

Tuttle closed out the round with two more birdies to post a final-round 66, the low round of the championship and the second-lowest round in FJT history.

Jordan Fischer took home a second-place finish with a 1-over 145, while Addison Klonowki finished third at 3-over 147.

How Entries are Accepted

• Players with an unused FJT exemption will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis (if submitted before the entry deadline).
• Players without an FJT exemption - all other entries are held until the entry closing date.  Shortly after the closing date, a computer-generated random draw is performed to determine which entries are accepted, and the order of the alternates. All players are notified of their status after the random draw is conducted,
• An alternates list will be posted to the FSGA website under "Tee Times & Player Information".
• Entries submitted after the entry deadline will be added to the bottom of the alternates list or used to fill any openings in the field.

How to Enter

Entries are submitted through the FSGA website. To enter, each player must create an FSGA account on this website (free to set-up), purchase a current Junior Membership ($40), and have an active Florida GHIN Handicap (included in membership if golfer does not already have one). To proceed, click the "Enter" button above once entries have opened.

Late Entry Fee: A late fee of $10 will be applied to entries submitted after the close of entries date. The entry fee and late fee will only be applied if the player gets accepted in to the tournament field.

Practice Rounds

Practice rounds are available one week prior to the tournament on a space-available basis. Tee times are only available after 12:00 PM on the week prior.  The price for a practice round is $30.00 + tax. Please call (239) 774-2202 to arrange your practice round. The proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range, hitting multiple shots on the course, not filling divots, and not repairing ball marks are unacceptable and may cause removal from the tournament without a refund.
