Boys Division

Luke Gifford wins his fourth Florida Junior Tour event with two solid rounds of 68-67. His tournament total of 9-under par 135 was good for a four shot victory. Finishing tied for second with rounds of 70-69 was Jeffrey Cunningham and the 2016 FJT Tour Championship winner from the 13-15 age division, Jake Beber-Frankel. Luke’s tournament low final round 67 was loaded with six birdies and highlighted with an eagle three on the par 5 11th hole.

Girls Division

After a very competitive first round, Ariel Yu’s 68 was the low and left her with a two shot lead over Erika Smith. After the fog cleared on Sunday morning, Erika Smith would rise to the top. After being three under par on her first eight holes, Erika had a bit of a hiccup on her ninth hole (hole #18). A quadruple bogey eight brought life back in to her fellow competitors. That life was quickly squashed as she would birdie four of her first six holes on the back nine (eight total birdies) and come in with a 32 and a second round total of 69. Ariel Yu’s 1 over par 73 was two shot shy of Erika, but good enough for second place. Twelve year old Izzy Pellot fired an impressive 69 in her final round to claim third place. This is Erika's second Florida Junior Tour victory.
