Super-Senior Amateur Championship

Join us in a reunion of golfers 65 years of age and older competing in one of our most popular events. The Super-Senior Championship offers a competitive Championship environment for golfers in a stroke play scratch format with three different age divisions from three different sets of tees.

David Anthony

BRADENTON, Fla. – David Anthony earned the victory at the Super-Senior Amateur Championship on Wednesday at Bradenton Country Club. This is the first FSGA championship win for Anthony since the 2003 Mid-Senior Four-Ball Championship.

Pete Andrews was victorious in the 70-74 Division on Tuesday, while Jim DuBois took home the win in the 75 & Over Division.

Championship Division

Anthony secured his first FSGA championship victory in 17 years in wire-to-wire fashion, carding a 1-under 212 for the championship. After a bogey to start the championship on Monday, Anthony played the rest of the day bogey free to fire a first-round 69. He took a 1-shot lead over the field into the second round.

The Jacksonville native used an even-par 71 in the second round to take the 36-hold lead for the championship.

Anthony began the final round with a two-shot lead over the field at 2-under 140. He birdied two of his first three holes to begin the final round, before running into trouble with a bogey and double bogey. Anthony made the turn at 1-over for the day and went on to play the back side at even par.

He finished the championship with a final-round 72 to secure the seven-shot win. The 2002 Mid-Amateur Champion was the only player in the field to card an under-par round for the championship.

Doug LaCrosse and Mark Weston finished tied for second place at 6-over 219, while Rick Woulfe finished one shot back in fourth place at 7-over 220.

Pete Andrews  |  Jim DuBois

70-74 Division

Andrews survived a playoff to take home the win in the 70-74 Division. He used the low round of the championship to take the first-round lead at 2-under 69. The Lithia native began the final round with a 40 on the front nine. Andrew put together an even-par back nine, with two birdies, to card a final-round 76.

At the end of the day, he sat in a tie for first with Tom Grady at 3-over 145. Anthony made a par on the first playoff hole to win, while Grady finished runner-up. Jim Carley took third place at 5-over 147, putting together round of 70-77.

Andrews, Grady and Carley were the only three players in the division to card under-par rounds.

75 & Over Division

DuBois captured the win in the 75 & Over Division, carding a 7-over 149 for the championship. The Coral Springs native took the first-round lead on Monday with a 1-over 72.  He finished the week with a final-round 77 to secure the two-shot victory.

Walt Martin took second place at 9-over 151, while Brian Sachs finished third at 15-over 157.
