Practice Rounds

Practice rounds are available Friday-Sunday, June 7-8 and may only be booked 6 days in advance of the desired day. Tee times are available on a space available basis. Call (352) 746-3446 to arrange your practice round. Practice rounds are $30 plus tax, at the competitor’s expense on a space available basis. The practice round rate includes a cart, however, players may be paired up in a cart.  All competitors playing a practice round must reserve a tee time.

Players playing 9 holes on the Highlands Course will pay a $15 rate, plus tax.

A parent may play along during the practice round for a rate of $50 on the Ranch Course or $25 on the Highlands Course. A parent can play the Quarry Course for $65 plus tax.

Practice Facilities

On Sunday, June 10th, the practice range will close at 6:30 PM. On tournament round days, the range will open at 6:30 AM.

Player Lunch Buffet

After the first and final rounds, a player lunch buffet will be available to all players free of charge. Parents and guest may purchase the buffet for themselves for a modest price.

Course Set-up

The approximate yardages for each age group are:

16-18 years - 6000 yards on the Ranch Course
13-15 years - 5600 yards on the Ranch Course
10-12 years - 2500 yards on the Highlands Course
6-9 years - 2200 yards

Caddies

Caddies are not allowed.

Method of Payment

Black Diamond Ranch accepts cash and major credit cards for method of payment.  Food and beverage service will be available on practice days and the day of qualifying.

Transportation

All players MUST WALK during tournament rounds. Pull carts are allowed. Girls in the 6-9 and 10-12 age divisions will have their clubs transported by a volunteer during the round.

Cell Phones

Black Diamond Ranch prohibits the use of cell phones in the clubhouse.

Pull Carts

Black Diamond Ranch allows the use of pull carts on the golf course.

Locker Rooms

Players will have access to the locker room before, between and after rounds. Players MUST use locker rooms to change shoes. Using the parking lots to change shoes or clothes is prohibited.

Pace of Play

The FSGA uses a checkpoint pace of play system at all competitions that it conducts in the state of Florida.  There are NO WARNINGS to the players and players are not timed.  Each group must complete each nine within the stated time or within 15 minutes of the group ahead or each player in the group will be subject to a one stroke penalty (additional two strokes for a second breach).  This pace of play policy places the full responsibility for pace of play on the players.

The FSGA pace of play policy utilizes a two checkpoint system.

• Players will not receive warnings
• Players are not timed
• Each group is responsible for monitoring their own pace.

To avoid penalty, groups must complete each checkpoint hole:

1. Within 15 minutes of the group ahead, or
2. Under the allotted time.

Checkpoints at each course will be on holes #9 and #18. All players in a group in breach are subject to penalty.

Position with Group Ahead – To stay within 15 minutes of the group
ahead, players should never have an open hole and they should be in the
fairway on par 4’s and 5’s when the group ahead leaves the green. 

Spectator Carts

Spectators may rent a cart for $25 per day plus tax, but must follow the FSGA Spectator Cart Policy. Carts are available on space available basis. Spectators are welcome to watch the golf and walk the grounds free of charge.

Personal Appearance (Players, Parents & Spectators)

Remember that you are a guest at Black Diamond Ranch and appropriate behavior and proper dress is expected at all times. Black Diamond Ranch does permit the wearing of mock turtle neck shirts.  All shirts must be tucked in at all times.  All males must remove hats when inside the clubhouse. No Denim is allowed on property. 

Accommodations

Arrangements have been made at the Plantation Inn & Spa.  Standard hotel rooms with one king or two double; rates are $89 per night, plus 9% tax.
