In the boys 16-18 age division of 63 juniors, Kyle Cobb, 17, from Tallahassee, trailed the first round leader by five strokes to come from behind and win the title by one stroke. Cobb, who won last season at North Shore, claimed his second FJT title with a tournament total of 146. Cobb shot a 75 in the first round and then came out in cold and windy conditions to fire a 1-under par 71 in the final round for the win. Cobb edged out three juniors, Blayne Barber, of Lake City, and two local juniors from Ocala, Joel Durrance and Tyler Hock, who each recorded a tournament total of 147. The boys 16-18 division played from 6,845 yards.
Cassandra Blaney, 16, of Rochester, New York, had a four stroke advantage going into this final round after blasting a 73 to take the lead in the girls 16-18 age division. Blaney then recorded a 76 in the final round to win her first FJT title. Andrea Messer, 15, of Belleair, and Alexandria Buelow, 15, from Palm City, both playing up an age division at Golden Hills, shared second place honors with a tournament total of 156. Messer, who also took second place at Lake Jovita, posted a pair of 78’s while Buelow shot a 77-79. The girls 16-18 division of 19 girls played from 5,845 yards.
