Juliette Falls (16-18)

Juliette Falls - Dunnellon

November 3-4, 2012

Stoner & Reilly Marched Through the Fog

Heavy fog caused delays each morning, but the fog didn't stop Erica Stoner and Kevin Reilly from finding their way to victory at Juliette Falls.

On Saturday morning, heavy fog delayed tee times nearly four hours forcing the tournament staff to run a shotgun at 12:30. Macy McRaney, of Winter Garden, got off to a great start on the firm and fast greens at Juliette Falls. McRaney shot a two over par, 74 to take a five shot lead over Erica Stoner. In the final round, Stoner, of Ocala, after another fog delay, caught fire on her final nine holes making birdies on holes 4, 6, and 8 for a 33 on the front nine. She shot a 71 on the day forcing a playoff with McRaney.

On the first playoff hole (par 4 #18), McRaney hit her approach shot into the greenside water hazard. After taking relief from the water hazard she hit a great chip and drained the putt for a 5. Stoner, playing safe, left herself with a three foot putt for par and the win. Fully confident, Stoner stepped up and drained the putt for a par and the victory. This year Stoner also won the State Girls' Junior Championship at Black Diamond over the summer.

In the boys division, Kevin Reilly shot a first round 69 (-3) to take a two shot lead into the final round. On Sunday, Philip Knowles fired a six under par 66 to post a two under tournament total of 142. Jordan Batchelor shot rounds of 72-70 to tie Knowles at 142.

Reilly, didn't fold under the pressure though. He started the final round hot and shot a three under par 33 on the front nine with birdies on holes 1, 6, and 9. He cruised into the clubhouse with a 38 on the back nine for a 71 on the day and 140 total. This two shot victory is Reilly's first FJT win in the 16-18 age division.

Jason Huntington had a hole-in-one the first day on hole # 7, a 205 yard par-3.

"With limited homes on the interior of the golf course and an excellent practice facility, our architect John Sanford has designed a dramatic and enjoyable golf course."

Pace of Play

The FJT uses a checkpoint pace of play policy that provides no verbal warnings throughout the round. Each group is responsible for playing under the allotted time or finishing each checkpoint hole within 15 minutes of the group ahead of them.

Pace of play will be strictly enforced with anticipated rounds to be less than 4 hours and 45 minutes. We strongly recommend that all players and parents read and understand the Pace of Play Policy.
