Graham & McChrystal Win at Rio Pinar

Wesley Graham and Megan McChrystal captured their second Florida Junior Tour (FJT) title of the season winning their respective divisions at Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando on March 25-26.

Wesley Graham, 16, of Port Orange, battled strong winds to win the boys 16-18 age division firing a tournament total of 5-under par 139. Graham, the 2004 and 2005 Boys Junior Champion of the 13-15 age division, shot a 69-70 to be the sole competitor to post under par rounds on both days. This is Graham’s second victory of the season as he won the 54-hole Disney event last November. Kyle Cobb, 17, of Tallahassee, bettered his first round score by ten strokes to share second place honors with Shelton Smith. After a first round score of 77, Cobb blasted a 67 in the final round for the low round of the tournament. Shelton Smith, 17, from Port Orange, had his best performance in an FJT event tying for second. Smith shot a 70-74 for an even par 144. The boys field of 66 played from 6,912 yards.

In the girls 16-18 age division, Megan McChrystal, 17, from Stuart, edged out the field by one stroke to win her second FJT title. McChrystal, who like Graham won the 54-hole Disney event, shot a 75-78—153 for the win. Madison Pressel, 14, and Kyle Roig, 11, playing in their first 16-18 age division event, shared second place with a 154 tournament total. Pressel, from Boca Raton, shot a pair of 77s while Roig, of Pembroke Pines, posted a 78-76. The 18 girls played from 6,152 yards.
