Carlin & Hage Win at Lemon Bay

Christopher Carlin and Jordyn Hage prevailed in their respective divisions to win the Florida Junior Tour event at Lemon Bay Golf Club in Englewood on April 23-24, 2005.

In the 13-15 boys division, Christopher Carlin, 15, from Pembroke Pines, shot a two-round total of 147 to secure the title by one stroke. Carlin posted a 72-75 to lead the field of 54 boys. This is Carlin’s second victory this season as he won the Disney FJT event in November 2004. Playing in his first FJT event, Jordan Lewis, 15, of Marion, Illinois, placed second shooting a 78 in the first round and the low round of the tournament, an even par 70, in the final round. Julian Suri, 14, from St. Augustine, finished third posting scores of 71-78-149. This finish adds to Suri’s third place in last month’s 54-hole event at Celebration Golf Club.

Jordyn Hage, 14, from Winter Park, was victorious in the girls 13-15 age division with a pair of 77’s. Hage was tied with Amelia Lewis after the first round and held on in the final round to win the tournament by two strokes. This win is Hage’s first victory on the Tour after having five top ten finishes. Lewis, 14, from Jacksonville, shot a 79 in the final round to take second place. Lewis has one FJT title winning at the Disney event. The 13-15 division points leader, Whitney Wenglasz, 14, from Oldsmar, placed third posting a 79-78-157. Wenglasz won at TwinEagles in the 13-15 age division, and has placed in the top ten in two 16-18 age division events. The girls field featured 18 girls competing for the title.
