96th Women's Amateur Championship

Indian Creek Country Club, Indian Creek Village, FL

June 12-15, 2025

MIAMI, Fla. — After a marathon week at one of Florida’s most picturesque venues, it was Siuue Wu who emerged victorious, raising the trophy on the 18th green at Indian Creek Country Club. With her first FSGA championship win, her name is now etched into the history books. Here’s what happened…

Before the championship match was underway, the semifinal action teed off at 8:00 AM with Siuue Wu and Ana Boone in the opening match. Wu, the stroke play medalist, had the honors and made an immediate statement with a birdie on the first hole to go 1 up, a foreshadowing of sorts. On the shortened par-four fourth, however, she found the water and conceded the hole, bringing the match back to all square. Wu regained a slim advantage at the turn, leading 1 up through nine. She would seal the match with back-to-back wins on holes 15 and 16, ultimately closing out Boone on the 17th green with a 2 & 1 victory, becoming the first player to punch her ticket to the final.

In the second semifinal, Remi Bacardi squared off against Alexandra Gazzoli. Bacardi mirrored Wu’s hot start with a birdie on the opening hole to take an early lead, then extended it by winning the third. Gazzoli answered on the fourth with a clutch up-and-down to trim the lead, and the two remained tied at the turn. As the match continued, Bacardi regained control and held a 2-up advantage heading to the 17th. Like Wu, she closed it out on the 17th hole with a 2 & 1 win.

With both semifinals decided on the 17th green, the championship match was officially set: Siuue Wu vs. Remi Bacardi, with the title and an exemption into the 125th U.S. Women’s Amateur at Bandon Dunes on the line.

Bacardi once again opened strong, birdieing the first hole to take a 1-up lead. But a bogey on the second quickly brought the match back to all square. Wu responded with precision on the third, sticking her approach tight and converting the birdie to take her first lead of the day.

As the match reached the turn, a misread putt from Wu on the ninth hole leveled the score once more, setting the stage for a thrilling final stretch between the Florida Gator and the future Virginia Cavalier.

On Indian Creek’s signature 12th hole, Bacardi found trouble long and was forced to concede, giving Wu the advantage. Wu then backed it up with a clutch birdie on the 13th, extending her lead to 2 up, the largest margin of the match with just four holes to play.

That cushion would prove decisive. The duo matched pars over the next 4 holes, and when Wu matched Bacardi’s par on the 17th green, she officially became the 96th Women’s Amateur Champion. There’s just something special about that 17th green...

In addition to etching her name into FSGA history, Wu also earned an exemption into the 125th U.S. Women’s Amateur at Bandon Dunes-- a Golden Ticket she’ll redeem this August.

This year’s championship was elevated by the exceptional hospitality of Indian Creek Country Club. Thank you to the club staff, agronomy team, and all others who helped create a week to remember.

Entry Priority

  • Exempt players will be entered into the field on a first-come, first-served basis up to 75% (63 players) of the total field. Exempt players will be accepted first by tier one exemptions (see exemption table). Should the exempt limit not be reached, the remaining spots will be added to the local qualifying sites. If the exempt limit is reached before the entry deadline, and an exempt player subsequently withdraws, that spot will be offered to the next exempt player with an entry submitted. Once the entry deadline is passed, and an exempt player withdraws, that spot will be allocated to a qualifying site.
  • Players not meeting any of the exempt criteria must select one of the two qualifing sites available.
