Woulfe and Ritter Advance to Match Play

Rick Woulfe of Fort Lauderdale and Doug Ritter of Davie were the only two Florida players to advance to the match play portion at the U.S. Senior Amateur Championship.  Woulfe who is a veteran of USGA Championships finished tied for 8th place after 36 holes of stroke play qualifying.  The reigning FSGA Senior Player of the Year fired a first round 69 that included 5 birdies and then backed it up with a 1-over par 72. Woulfe will face Hunter Nelson of Houston, Texas at 11:56 on Monday morning.

Ritter carded an opening round 76 and followed it up with 72 to land in a tie for 43rd position entering the match play portion of the Championship.  The 156-player field will be cut to the low 64 for match play beginning on Monday morning.  Ritter will face off against Greensboro, North Carolina native Stephen Sharpe at 9:08 on Monday morning.  Eleven players tied for 56th at 7-over 149 will play off for the final nine match-play berths in a playoff, which begins Monday at 8 a.m.
